Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 To Get Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is finally being rolled out for Samsung’s GALAXY Ace 2 (model no: GT-I8160) smartphone. That being said, the update may not be immediately available globally, since the firmware is being rolled out in phases. While the phone is currently not retailing in India officially,Samsung GALAXY Ace 2 is a mid-range smartphone runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) out of the box.

With the latest OS update, the following features have been added to the GALAXY Ace 2 :
  • Nature UX interface.
  • Smooth Performance and stability with Samsung’s Project Butter.
  • Brand New Lockscreen with various options for customisation.
  • Google Now.
  • new enhancements such as Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Pop-up-play and Direct Call.
  • Customisable toggles in the notification area.
Updates will be made available via Samsung Kies or OTA. To check whether the update is seeding for your handset, choose Settings > About Phone > Software Updates. A point to note – this phone was officially available in India for a very brief period. And then, for some reason, Samsung thought against selling this model here despite the success of its predecessor. If you bought it then, chances are that the update for your device may be available a lot later than if you happened to have bought one overseas.
